MELKSHAM Town’s interest in the Wiltshire Senior Cup was ended on Tuesday night as they were beaten 4-1 by Laverstock & Ford.

Mike Perrott got the only goal of the game on the hour mark but the home side ensured it would remain level going into the interval.

The second half would prove costly for Darren Perrin’s side, who conceded a further three times as the game ended 4-1 to the hosts.

“It was disappointing. In the first half, we were the better side and we had numerous chances,” said Perrin.

“Credit to Laverstock because they acclimatised to the conditions, which were absolutely treacherous.

“In the second half they wanted it more and therefore they deserved to win.

“It’s disappointing to go out when you’re the holders. Although we made a lot of changes, we had a side good enough to get a result.”
