HEYTESBURY picked up their first points of the season as they came from 2-0 down at Westbury United Reserves to claim a 4-2 win that ended a seven-match losing run in Division One of the Trowbridge Windows-sponsored Trowbridge League.

Adam Kenich headed Westbury in front on 17 minutes and when Marc Lanfear turned and thumped the ball home in the 21st minute to put his team 2-0 up, it looked as if Heytesbury were all set for another defeat.

Instead, they reduced arrears through Dan Dicks, who turned home an Ashley Kinkade free kick on 26 minutes.

Jamie Howse was denied an equaliser in the 32nd minute when his shot rattled the post.

It was Howse who squared things up, when he curled home in the 60th minute to make it two apiece.

Five minutes later Heytesbury were ahead, Bradley Edwards following up a Howse shot to make it 3-2.

With time running out the villagers made the game safe, Howse and Dix combined to set up Ollie Nash who netted for 4-2.

A week after they knocked Freshford United out of this season’s Knockout Cup, Melksham Town A returned to Brown’s Park and claimed a 2-0 victory that saw them consolidate top spot in the table.

First-half goals from Jordan Kirk and Sean Fordham earned Dave Jenkins' side their eighth win of the season which keeps them ahead of defending champions Luxol St Andrews due to a slightly better goal difference.

Last term's Division One champions and runners up Luxol St Andrews and Warminster Town Reserves met for the first time this season and for the first time in three attempts Luxol finally got the better of their rivals with a 2-1 win that sees them remain on 25 points with Melksham Town A at the top of the table.

Luxol held a slender 1-0 half-time lead, which was given to them on 10 minutes by Tom Rooney.

Rooney doubled the advantage on 65 minutes, however the goal owed much to the brilliant work of Josh Hard.

Brendan Hind replied for Warminster on 80 minutes to set up a frantic finish which saw Luxol hold out and claim 3 more very important points in their defence of the title.

A 13-1 victory for Stockton & Codford at home to Trowbridge Town Reserves gave Jayson Stokes the perfect build-up to next week’s county cup tie with Lower Stratton, while defeat for Ralph McCaldron’s Trowbridge sides means that they are likely to feature in the battle to stay in the division.

Jason Povey, on his return from suspension, opened the scoring for Stockton. Levi Wood restored parity for Trowbridge who found themselves 3-1 down at the break as a second from Povey and a first of the afternoon for Nick Sleeman put Stockton in charge.

After the break Stockton ran riot as both Sleeman and Povey filled their boots, Sleeman bagged himself a further six to claim a seven-timer while Povey finished with a fifer.

Joe Martin denied his strike pairing a full house as his goal, the ninth of the game made up the 13.

Chris Bridel also missed a penalty for the winners.

When Westbury Town and Hilperton United met on the opening day of the season, honours were shared as the teams fought out a 1-1 draw.

The reverse fixture at Leighton was convincingly won 4-1 by Hilperton who move into fourth spot with a fourth win of the season.

Goals from Tom Parr, Steve Ball and Nathan Glass put Tony Stevens' side 3-0 up in the opening 45 minutes.

Tom Blackman pulled a goal back for Westbury, but it was just a consolation as James Clifford secured victory for the villagers.
