BRADFORD Town produced a steady performance last weekend as they registered a 2-0 Toolstation Premier Division away win at Shepton Mallet.

The visitors took the lead just before half-time when Martin Lenihan got his name on the scoresheet.

After an uneventful second half, it was substitute Leon Greenland who popped up with the second two minutes after coming on, with 20 minutes left to play.

The win means Danny Greaves’ side are unbeaten in their last seven games and haven’t conceded a goal in their last three.

Yet despite appearing as if the weekend was a routine win, Greaves was keen to stress his side earned all three points.

“It was a tough game and a good away performance from us, they were a good side Shepton,” he said.

“We were solid and we got two good goals, so I was pleased with the performance.

“One was from a corner. We haven’t scored enough from set pieces in the last few games but the hard work is paying off with some good work on the training ground.

Greaves was quick to praise Greenland, who has found first-team opportunities hard to come by so far this season.

“Greenland hasn’t had many chances this year, but he came on with 20 minutes to go and got the goal, which was good timing,” added Greaves.

“He’s a good lad, he’s been with us since the start of the season and it was great to see him get a goal.

“One good thing about our squad is our depth, we have a good squad of 16 players and we try to rotate them with the amount of games we have coming up.

“The last few weeks we have had some players come off of the bench and do a great job for us.”

At the halfway point of the season, the Bradford boss admits he is more than happy with how the campaign has panned out so far.

“You look at the season as a whole so far and we had a great start with our unbeaten run, we had a bit of a blip but they were all against top sides,'' he added.

“Since then we have gone on another unbeaten run and we are very happy with how the season is going so far.”

Bradford Town are due to face Highworth Town in the quarter finals of the Wiltshire Senior Cup tonight (7.45pm).
