WITH just one league victory apiece to their names this season, The Stiffs and Trowbridge Wanderers Development locked horns at St Mary’s Steeple Ashton looking for some pre-Christmas cheer and it was Ross Pugh’s Wanderers side who claimed a 5-1 success.
Wanderers were 3-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Adam Pickford, Harry McHale-Ledbury and Lewis Bridgman.
The Stiffs, who lost their keeper at half-time, pulled a goal back through Rob Clarke, but things got worse for them as they finished the game with 10 players due to injury.
Both Adam Pickford and Harry McHale-Ledbury added to their first-half goals to leave Wanderers celebrating their first win in 12 games.
With Division One leaders Three Daggers in Junior Cup action, Trowbridge Town A missed the chance to return to the top of the table after they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Aces FC, who they had beaten 3-0 a month ago.
Craig Hillier scored Ace’s winner in the 44th minute.
