BRADFORD Town will look for nothing less than a victory at the weekend as they host Southall in the FA Vase fourth round.

Manager Danny Greaves admits he is looking for some form of reaction from his side after they slipped to a disappointing loss against Melksham Town on Boxing Day.

Greaves believes the Vase could be the perfect catalyst for his side as they look to progress up the Toolstation League Premier Division table.

“You want another big game after that defeat. Performance-wise after Boxing Day I was happy with them, but the result didn’t go our way,” said Greaves.

“I’m slightly disappointed there has been such a big gap between the two games, but hopefully that has given us the chance to recharge.

“There aren’t many bigger games to get yourself up for than the last 32 of the Vase so there will be no problem for us.

“Generally our league form has been okay in the last 10 or 11 games, but winning breeds confidence and we want to bounce back from the Boxing Day game.

“If we get a win on Saturday we can take that momentum into the league. If we are really going to challenge at the top end of the table we are going to have to have another run.”

Ahead of the game the home side will be boosted by the return of Alex Monks, Ricky Scott and Mark Wall who are all available for the weekend.

Greaves also reckons his side have a good idea of what to expect from the Spartan South Midlands League Division One outfit and will look to make the most of home advantage.

“The FA Vase is something everyone at the club and the players are all looking forward to, trying to progress to the last 16 in a national competition,” added Greaves.

“We are looking forward to the game, we have done as much homework as we can we have seen videos and spoken to a number of people (about Southall).

“We know quite a bit about them, we have quite a good idea on how they are going to play and who their danger men are, hopefully we can come out on top.''

The Bradford manager is also keen for his side to impose themselves on the opposition when they travel to Trowbridge Road.

“We do try and look at the opposition and what their strengths are, but we also look at how we can go and play our normal game and exploit those weaknesses with things we do normally,” he said.

“We are at home so we will initially be looking to take the game to them early doors and hopefully we can have a really good start.”
