Frome Town were unable to build on their positive result at Chippenham Town as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Kings Langley.

The visitors set out their stall with a packed defence and midfield, but looked surprisingly fast and dangerous on the counter attack, and Kyle Phillips had to be very aware to come a long way out of his goal and clear from Immanuelson Duku in the 11th minute.

Jon Davies went close in the 24th, for the hosts, as Sam Teale rolled an inviting ball into his path, but his shot was headed clear.

At the other end, the visitors went close on the half hour mark as Frome lost possession in midfield and a quick break saw Phillips pull off and excellent save to deny Duku as he advanced on goal.

Darren Jefferies side again went close just before the break as Jake Jackson toe poked the ball towards goal where it hit the inside of the post, before being cleared off of the line.

Within a minute, Jackson had again hit the frame of the goal, this time from 20 yards as he was set up with a shooting opportunity by Ollie Knight as Frome began to stamp their authority on proceedings.

Early in the second half the visitors missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock when Duku failed to make the most of a sweeping move.

Davies went close again shortly after the hour for Jefferies’ men as his volley brought a good save from Xavi Comas late on.

Despite both sides throwing everything they could to find a late winner, neither were able to as the game ended in stalemate.

However the result extends Frome’s unbeaten run to a total of eight games and with them firmly in 6th place, the next visitors to the Special Effects Stadium are tenth placed Redditch United.
