FROME Town’s good spell of form was brought to an abrupt end this weekend as they were beaten 4-1 by Kettering Town away from home.

The visitors went into the game well rested after their match with Chesham United was postponed.

Before that Frome had recorded an impressive win over Redditch Town, as they romped home to an 8-1 win.

Josh Jeffries’ made a few adjustments to his side, who were looking to stretch their unbeaten run to 10 consecutive games, by bringing in Chris Gregan for the unavailable Marcus Mapstone.

The hosts started the game the stronger of the two and that showed when Rene Howe opened the scoring in the 29th minute to hand his side the lead.

It wasn’t long until that lead was doubled, new signing James Hall got the first of his two six minutes later to make it 2-0

Brett Solkhon then made things worse for the visitors when he added a third on the stroke of half time to make it 3-0 to Kettering.

Just after an hour the visitors also managed to get on the score sheet when Jake Jackson reduced the hosts’ advantage to two goals for the second time.

However all hopes of a comeback were dashed as Hall added his second in the 79th minute to seal a 4-1 win.
