WITH leaders Melksham Town A missing out on a league match, Dave Jenkins saw his team's lead at the top of the table trimmed to nine points by Freshford United.

Yet despite their 4-1 success over Warminster Town Reserves, United remain as title outsiders.

Freshford’s debutant Luke Murden broke the deadlock when he netted after getting on to a Nick Ross flick on from Jack Mitchell’s long throw.

Murden doubled the lead, this time after an assist from Fynn McCarty-Driver, who himself netted Freshford’s third following good work from Theo Sing.

Murden capped a great debut with an assist for Waleed Bakali who scored the winners' fourth. Matt Dyer replied for Warminster.

When Stockton & Codford and Hilperton United back in October they battled to a goalless draw, so the return match was expected to be another closely-fought affair.

But that wasn’t the case as Stockton ran out 5-1 winners.

Steve Ball may have given Hilperton the lead, but his effort was just a consolation as Justin Precce got Stockton back on level terms and two goals from Jason Povey gave them a 3-1 half-time lead.

Povey completed his hat-trick in the second half with Kieron Edwards netting Stockton’s fifth to complete their success.

Having suffered a 6-0 defeat at Westbury Town the previous weekend, Heytesbury were beaten 9-2 by the same opponents.

Luke McGuckin and Jamie Howse (penalty) twice got Heytesbury on level terms after Ashley Easton and Joe Edwards had put Westbury 1-0 and 2-1 ahead.

The game turned early in the second half as Westbury raced to a 6-2 lead, Ben Spong leading the way with a hat-trick and Easton adding his second of the afternoon.

Spong went on to add a fourth and Matty Mead and Jack Hayward made up Westbury’s nine.
