TROWBRIDGE Town Reserves boosted their hopes of staying in the Division One with a 3-1 victory at home to Hilperton United which saw them move out of the drop zone at the expense of Westbury United Reserves.

Goals from Saul Johnson on nine minutes and Kieran Green on 32 minutes gave Trowbridge a deserved lead.

Marc Sheppard halved the deficit for Hilperton before half-time, however they were unable to fashion an equaliser before Johnson claimed his second in the 78th minute.

Luxol St Andrews aren’t giving up the defence of their title without a fight.

The defending champions moved joint-second with a 4-0 victory at Semington Magpies, who held their guests to a goalless first half.

Magpies fell behind to what they believed was a controversial opener which saw Mark Reynolds score from the penalty spot.

Kieran Hard fired home from 16 yards to make it 2-0 and Tom Rooney headed in for 3-0 from what Magpies thought was an offside position.

There was no doubt about Luxol’s fourth which saw Josh Hard net his 18 goal of the season.

Having booked their place in the Knockout Cup final last weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Westbury Town, Warminster Town Reserves hosted bottom of the table Heytesbury but were held to a 2-2 draw.

Brendan Hind gave Warminster a 19th-minute lead and he had the chance to double their lead on 44 minutes, but blasted his penalty high over the bar.

The miss proved costly as Heytesbury went up the other end and after good work between Kyle Edwards and Luke McGuckian the ball was played to Phil Lucus to fire home and level things up at 1-1.

Heytesbury shocked their guests when they took the lead on 52 minutes, Bradley Edwards' free kick somehow finding its way into the net.

The villagers went close to making it 3-1 but Phil Lucus was inches away when his effort trickled past the post in the 60th minute, he then saw the woodwork keep out what would have been a sublime finish.

Warminster then had a purple patch as they hunted an equaliser, and they were denied twice by keeper Sam Spratt before Matt Dyer fire home a free kick to make it each.

Bradley Edwards goal-line clearance and a last-gasp save from Spratt denied Warminster a winner.

Another game and another victory for Melksham Town A means that Dave Jenkins side now have a 14-point gap over their title chasing rivals Freshford United and Luxol St Andrews.

Melksham took their unbeaten run to 15 matches with a hard-fought 3-2 success at Westbury United Reserves, who conceded a late winner to deny them what would have been a deserved share of the spoils.

It looked to business as usual for the leaders when Will Stead put them ahead and Nick Ridout dinked home from 20 yards out to make 2-0.

However things didn’t go to plan as Westbury staged a great revival as Nick Taylor’s penalty got them back in the game prior to half-time and Tony McElhone restored parity midway through the second half.

Shortly after they went close to taking the lead when James Collett headed against the bar.

With time running out, Melksham used their get out jail card when Jordan Evans popped up to volley home what proved to be the winner.
