SEMINGTON Magpies, who had not won in their previous eight Division One games since a 2-1 success over Westbury Town back in November, were left fuming at decisions that saw them suffer a last-minute 4-3 loss at home to the same opponents.

Town finished the game with 10 players after they had Matt Mead sent off.

Semington went ahead early on through Rich Allum, however they were pegged back when Mead levelled things up with a 25-yard stunner and then took the lead when Gary Tugwell scored from a hotly-disputed penalty.

Ben Jenkins restored parity for Semington and when Westbury had Mead sent off it should have given them the advantage.

However it was Westbury who kicked on and retook the lead via Jack Hayward.

Sean O’Brian squared things up for Semington and his goal should have been enough for them to share the points.

However more controversy was to follow when Westbury were awarded another penalty after a foul on Dan Cox.

Up stepped Tugwell to fire home the winner.

Fresh from their victory at Semington Magpies last weekend, bottom of the table Heytesbury were looking to upset the formbook when they hosted Freshford United who had already put 21 goals on their opponents this term.

Heytesbury were much improved, but they were unable to stop their guest from claiming a hat-trick of wins with a 5-2 success.

Freshford were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes, Gavin Eaye scoring the first from a Waleed Bakali assist and Theo Sing effort deflecting in off Matt Hyde for the second.

Dale Rowland headed home a Luke McGuckian cross to reduce the arrears for Heytesbury but their joy was shortlived as Mike Little restored Freshford’s two-goal advantage and a Matt Hyde own goal gave them a 4-1 interval lead.

Ollie Nash scored a second for Heytesbury and both Charlie Waylen and Dale Rowland went close to adding a third before Dave Percival sealed the victory when he scored from the penalty spot after a foul on Bakali.

Stockton & Codford were unable to stop Melksham Town As march to the title.

A 3-0 triumph for Dave Jenkins table-toppers saw them extend their unbeaten run to 17 matches to take them to within a point of the title.

Aaron Donaldson’s bizarre own goal gave Melksham a half-time lead.

Sean Fordham’s second-half effort gave them some breathing space before super sub, Paul Gittens came off the bench to make it 3-0 and put Jenkins’ men 90 minutes away from claiming their first-ever top-flight title.
