FROME Town were able to secure a late away point as they managed to equalise with four minutes to go after Chesham took an 82nd minute lead.

Manager Josh Jeffries was boosted by the return of Kris Miller, who slotted back into defence alongside Marcus Mapstone, although James Fitzgibbon and Jon Davies were both missing through injury.

The visitors came racing out of the blocks after the come close in the 2nd minute, when George Miller rattled a shot against the bar after the hosts were penalised for a pass back. Then in the 11th minute as Darren Jefferies shot just wide following a good cross from Ollie Knight, but Chesham were always in the hunt after they too went close as they had a shot just cleared the bar.

However, try as they might, despite good approach play, neither side could carve out a clear cut opportunity and both goal keepers remained largely untested until half time.

The second half saw more of the same, but with Chesham coming out a little faster than Jeffries’s troops as they began to look the more likely side to break the deadlock.

Kyle Phillips was quickly off his line to save at the feet of Roberts in the 65th minute and Connor Roberts showed his class to bring off a superb saving tackle as Ryan Blake was clean through on goal as the speed of the Chesham attackers continued to cause havoc.

As the pressure mounted, the hosts brought on Drew Roberts as they went for the killer goal and with 15 minutes to go, Sam Teale very nearly headed a Chesham corner into the top corner of his own goal Eventually the wait was over as a throw in was taken quickly, from the subsequent cross Sam Youngs was on hand to score easily and handed the hosts a one goal lead with eight minutes to go. That goal seemed like it might clinch the match, but Frome refused to lay down and they equalised two minutes later as Aiden Kirby was on hand
