BRADFORD Town boss Danny Greaves was left frustrated after watching his side fall to a third consecutive defeat against Odd Down.

With his team fifth in the Toolstation Premier Division, Greaves refused to blame the recent performances on an end-of-season slump as they went down 2-1.

Dan Cottle had fired Bradford ahead at Lew Hill Memorial Ground, but two second-half strikes ensured Greaves’ side came home empty-handed.

“I’m very disappointed because that was the third defeat on the bounce,” said Greaves.

“To be honest, we are having a bit of luck go against us. I couldn’t fault the effort of the players on Tuesday but we didn’t deserve to win it.

“We have got a very small squad so any injuries really do hurt us. We had a couple of key players out on Tuesday, which didn’t help.

“That’s not an excuse because I believed the 11 we put out were good enough.

“I don’t think it is the end of season catching up with us. We still have plenty to play for, we want to try and get the club’s highest ever finish.”

Meanwhile, Melksham Town manager Darren Perrin could see his side move up to second place if they are able to overcome Street on Saturday.

Melksham are currently one point below their weekend visitors after a 1-0 win at home to Hallen on Monday night, and another win at Oakfields will be enough to leapfrog Street in the league standings.

Perrin, whose side were also 1-0 winners over Buckland Athletic in the Les Phillips Cup last weekend, said: “Tuesday’s results give us a great chance of getting a guaranteed top-three finish.

“The incentive is now with Street and we could go second in the league.

“We are anticipating a big crowd but we are under no illusions that we will go into the game as the underdogs.”
