TROWBRIDGE defender Chris Stokes has agreed on a new two-year contract with Coventry City, it was revealed today.

The new deal at the League Two club for former Trowbridge Town youngster Stokes, 26, will start from July 1.

Stokes suffered an injury-hit season with the Sky Blues, but returned towards the end of it and helped City win the Checkatrade Trophy with victory over Oxford United at Wembley, alongside fellow Trowbridge man Jordan Turnbull, who was on loan from Southampton.

Former Bolton Wanderers youngster Stokes initially joined Coventry on a one-month loan from Forest Green Rovers in 2014, the former England C international joining the permanently after being released by the Gloucestershire outfit.
