JAMIE Harrison has secured his first win as Corsham Town manager after the Southbank side clinched a 1-0 Toolstation League First Division success against Ashton & Backwell United on Saturday.

Harrison’s team had suffered a difficult start to the campaign, losing their first three matches, including a 7-0 hammering at Oldland Abbotonians, but stopped the rot with a midweek goalless draw with county rivals Westbury United.

Their first three-pointer followed on Saturday as Leigh Rogers’ penalty shortly before the 70-minute mark earned them the spoils against their winless rivals.

Westbury are second in the table after maintaining their unbeaten league start with a 1-0 success at Bishops Lydeard.

Joint-boss Joe Kirkpatrick scored the winner for United shortly before the half-hour mark.

Goals from Jack Miluk and George Butler wrapped up a 2-0 victory for Warminster Town at Weymouth Street, with Portishead Town on the receiving end.

Malmesbury Victoria made it two wins on the trot following their 3-0 midweek success over Chippenham Park as they defeated Chard Town 1-0 at the Flying Monk Ground.

Billy Gleed was on target as Calne Town earned a 1-1 draw at Radstock Town, while Park bounced back from their midweek disappointment with a 1-1 draw at Wincanton Town.

But it was a bad day for Devizes Town, who crashed 4-1 at Almondsbury, Jay Walters’ strike the sole bright spot for the visitors.

In the Premier Division, Bradford Town are top of the table and are yet to concede a goal after four league matches, but proved unable to prise open the Bitton defence in a goalless draw at Trowbridge Road.

Karim Rendall hit the post in the first half for Danny Greaves’ men, with Mark Wall also missing the target in the second half.

In the Hellenic League, Royal Wootton Bassett Town still await their first Premier Division win after being held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Windsor on Saturday.

Bassett were boosted by the 40th-minute sending-off of the visitors’ Joash Nembhard and took the lead when Chris Jackson headed home from Gio Wrona’s corner.

But Windsor levelled when former Football League striker Barry Hayles found defender Haydon Clack, who fired home from the edge of the area and home keeper Matt Bulman needed to be on top form to deny Hayles a winner.

Pewsey Vale made it two wins from two in Division One West after a 3-2 success over Kidlington Reserves at Ball Road.

The sides were locked a 2-2 at half time, Michael Martin and James Blake on target for the Wiltshire men and Blake’s second 10 minutes after the break secured the points.
