WESTBURY United maintained their unbeaten start to the Toolstation League First Division season with a 3-2 triumph at Roman Glass St George on Saturday.

The Meadow Lane outfit, whose goalkeeper Lewis Porter was handed the division's Safe Hands award for August, stayed joint top of the table with new boys Bristol Telephones as goals from Josh Ferguson, Mark Robinson and Liam Milburn handed them the three points in Bristol.

Chippenham Park are just three points off top spot as they disposed of Welton Rovers 3-1 at Hardenhuish Park.

Darrin Moss, Ben Pring and Lewis McCarron notched for Brett Partner's side, who are fourth in the table.

Corsham Town are bottom of the table after a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Wincanton Town, Leigh Rogers scoring for the home side, while Warminster Town were also downed on home turf, slipping 2-1 to Bishop Sutton despite a goal from substitute Simon Farrell.

Billy Gleed and Stu Windsor scored in the second half as Calne Town fought back from 2-0 down to draw at Ashton & Backwell United.

In the Premier Division, Melksham Town twice led at early pacesetters Buckland Athletic, through goals from Dan Demkiv and Olly Webb, but were unable to hold on as the home side earned a 2-2 draw.

Melksham, who are second, host Bitton on Monday evening.

Bradford Town were in an even better position at Shepton Mallet, leading 2-0 as Will Hailston and Dan Cottle, but Mallet responded to earn a point from a 2-2 draw.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Royal Wootton Bassett Town's winless start hit seven games as they were beaten 4-0 by Flackwell Heath, Bassett's third defeat on the trot.

But Pewsey Vale preserved their unbeaten start in Division One West in emphatic style as they hammered hosts New College 6-0.

Harrison Lowe led the way with a hat-trick, James Blake, Mark Jones and substitute Lee Smith on target for the visitors.
