ZEALS edged past Greyhound to extend their unbeaten run to five matches, keeping them within touching distance of the top two sides.

Simon Parfitt put Greyhound in front, but his effort was cancelled out by Joao Rodrigues.

Shaun O’Brien regained the lead for Greyhound early in the second half but Zeals got themselves back on level terms and then opened up a 4-2 courtesy of two more goals from Rodrigues and a 13th goal of the season from Dale Rowland.

Greyhound were given late hope when O’Brien grabbed his second of the afternoon, but Zeals held on.

Fresh from their first win of the season last weekend, South Newton & Wishford came crashing back down to earth as they suffered a 7-0 defeat away at Aces.

A brace for Alfie Little and a goal apiece from Phil and Mike Little gave Aces a 4-0 half-time lead. Mike Little added his second after the break and a Vijay Manro double wrapped up a convincing win for Aces.

Melksham Town B had to battle past a spirited Stiffs side before wrapping up a 6-2 success.

Goals from Sam Robinson, Ben Lewis and Tom Wilkes who put through his own net gave Melksham a 3-0 interval lead against the wind.

Stiffs pulled a goal back via a bullet from Tom Wilkes from a Tom Quadling corner and then made things interesting with George Hartrey grabbing a second.

However, Melksham added three goals in the final 15 minutes, Tom Thomson netting twice and Dan Walker once.

Holt were in the goals at mid-table Trowbridge Wanderers Development with an 8-1 win that extended their unbeaten run to five matches.

Once Carl Davies made the breakthrough just after the half-hour mark, the goals started to flow with Mark Maguire tapping home and Ben Alexander’s composed finish on his debut putting them 3-1 up at the break, Myles Woodward replying for Wanderers.

Maguire made it 4-1 and John Baker’s penaltytook it to 5-1. Another excellent jinking run from Davies gave him his second, while Joe Walker headed in from a corner and Lewis Bridgeman’s own goal completed the rout.
