FROME Town are closing in on play-off places in the Southern League Premier Division after their 3-1 success over Dorchester Town moved them up to seventh in the table.

The Robins went into the match fresh, having not had a match on the Saturday following their exit from the FA Trophy.

However, Josh Jeffries side were quickly out of the blocks at Berkley Road with Jake Jackson opening the scoring in the 11th minute.

Dorchester ensured that the two sides went into the break on level terms with Mohammad Baghdadi equalising seven minutes before the interval.

Frome finally broke their visitors down 11 minutes before the end as Jackson struck again before Jon Davies hit the target for Frome in the 85th minute.

The Robins will look to continue their push for the top six tomorrow when they make the long trip to Cambridgeshire to face third-from-bottom St Ives Town.
