DIVISION Two champions Holt thrashed the Stiffs 12-0 to ensure they finish top of Group Two in the Gooding Accounts-sponsored Division Two Cup.

Holt were five goals to the good by half-time before adding a further seven to their tally after the break, including from a spectacular own goal.

Carl Davies started on the bench but finished with four goals to his name, while Ben Alexander, Ryan Bole, and Mark Maguire all got braces, with Jack Parker netting once.

After the game, Holt were presented with their league winners’ trophy by league chairman Roly Hill and secretary Colin Kennerson.

Zeals moved into second place in Group One with a 6-3 away win against the Greyhound, who finished the game with nine men.

Greyhound took the lead through Adam Stevens with the first real shot of the game, but Oliver Cole equalised minutes later from 25 yards.

Zeals were next to strike when Jordan Lynk tapped in and the home side were then reduced to 10 men after a straight red card was shown to Ryan Parfitt.

That allowed Zeals to get their third goal five minutes before the break as IK Ichiebuka turned home.

Zeals made it 4-1 through Haydyn Glasson early in the second half before Aaron Carter got in on the act.

Greyhound kept fighting and got themselves a second goal through Mohamed Karmoun but they were then reduced to nine men when keeper Luke Taylor saw red for violent conduct.

A penalty was awarded to Zeals in the process and Shane Rendall converted to make it six for the visitors before Darren Brewer struck a late consolation for Greyhound.

Craig Sheppard scored twice as Heytesbury were 4-0 winners away at Trowbridge Wanderers Development to guarantee top spot in Group One with a game to spare.

After a goalless first half, Heytesbury went ahead through Dan Dicks’ header before Jamie Howse tapped home a Sheppard cross.

Sheppard then went from provider to scorer with two goals in the final six minutes, the latter coming from the penalty spot after Howse was brought down in the box.

A single Jack Skyme goal was enough for Aces to triumph away at Melksham Town B.

Division One

THE match of the day was the third-versus-second clash between Stockton & Codford and Luxol St Andrews, which the latter won 3-0.

Josh Hard and a Nicholas Taylor brace bagged all three points for the Lacock-based side.

Relegation-threatened Calne Eagles and Hilperton United met at Beversbrook and it was the latter who conjured up a much needed 4-1 victory.

Thomas Blackman, Nathan Conradi, Alfie Francis and Graham Grifiths were on target for Hilpeton, with Josh Madle scoring the consolation goal for Eagles.

With Trowbridge Town Reserves battling to beat the drop, they would not have been looking forward to a visit from league leaders Freshford United, and show it proved as they ran out 4-1 victors.

Kubilay De'Vanney, Nathan Gant and Dave Percival together with and own goal sealed the points for Freshford, with Damian Gilewski replying with a Trowbridge consolation.

Anthony Lamb scored the only goal of the game to Semington Magpies to a 1-0 win over near neighbours Melksham Town A.

However, the outcome could have been so much different had Melksham converted either or both of the two penalties awarded to them by referee Steve Forrester, Paul Gittens missing the first and then Danny Harrison the second with the last kick of the game.
