MELKSHAM Town Reserves saw the destiny of their Premier Division title wrestled out of their hands as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to nearest rivals Kintbury Rangers on Saturday.

Charlie Allsop's penalty decided the contest in favour of Rangers, who stretched their unbeaten run to 17 matches and had two games in hand ahead of Tuesday night's fixtures, where they were due to host Pewsey Vale Development.

Melksham have two matches remaining, Tuesday's hosting of Cricklade Town being the curtain-raiser to Saturday's Fountain Trophies KO Cup final between the two at Corsham Town FC.

Shrewton United stayed third after a 3-2 win over Purton on Saturday.

Purton twice led through goals from Robert Lincoln and Andrew Bilko but were undone as Jake Watson, Dom Jackson and Matt Western won it.

Wroughton thrashed Trowbridge Town 6-2, Shane Hibbert's hat-trick taking him on to 38 for the campaign. Liam Griffin, Jordan Lea and Ollie While also netted.

Cricklade Town were 5-1 winners at Pewsey Vale Development, Devon Bryan making it 41 for the season with a double and Billy Sly, Tom Price and Jamie Sheppard also netting.

Westbury United Reserves took their unbeaten run to eight courtesy of a 7-0 win at bottom side Bassett Bulldogs, George Bendle and Martin Johnson scoring hat-tricks and Matt Mantay also scoring.

Devizes Town won 4-2 at Bremhill, for whom Ethan Gilson-Clarke scored bothas Alex Surman, Darren Lewis, Sam Dodds and Ben Tylee decided it.
