BRADFORD on Avon crews got back into action at the Abingdon Rowing Club Spring Head race on Sunday.

Despite suffering a capsize, Mike Frost sculled his Master D Novice boat home in a respectable time of 11 minutes 41 seconds.

Club vice-captain Ching Kilby, in her IM3 partnership with 16-year-old Devizes resident Tamsin Brewer, won their WIM3 double sculls race, beating crews from the Oxford Falcon Rowing Club and Stratford Upon Avon Rowing Club by 28 seconds.

Kilby and Frost also competed in a mixed Masters D double scull, while Mike Knott, Owen Houlihan, Mike Frost and Adam Swain rowed a coxless four.

There were also coxed fours featuring Scott Pullen, Jack Buxton, Jarvis Conybear and Toby Cambray (IM3 4+) and Adam Pope, Tom Lechmere, Swain and Jonathan Wiggins (IM3 4+) and a Mixed Masters double with Andrew Carpenter and club secretary Anne-Marie Leflaive.
