Trowbridge win top of the table battle

NETBALL: TROWBRIDGE came out on top by 28-20 against Westbury in the battle between the two unbeaten teams in the Premier Division of the Moonraker Netball League.

With both sides unbeaten so far this season this was always going to be an exciting and close match.

Westbury got off to a strong start with some good play by their attack and ended the first quarter in the lead.

Trowbridge gradually made up the deficit with some excellent defending by Jemma Gillard and Cathryn Smith and the score was level at half-time.

Tactical changes by Trowbridge allowed them to dominate the third quarter, with Rachael Findlay and Nick Hill scoring well.

Once ahead Trowbridge played out the final quarter by keeping possession and not allowing Westbury the chance to get back in the game.

Although a fiercely contested match, the game was played in good spirit by both teams with Trowbridge the winners by eight goals.
