BOXER Nick Blackwell is ready for his fight tomorrow despite a quick turnaround since his last bout.

The 24-year-old was held to his first draw of his career two weeks ago in Monte Carlo by the Belarusian veteran Sergey Khomitsky, but was straight back in the ring to prepare for this weekend’s fight at the Glow events centre, part of the Bluewater shopping complex in Kent.

“I was a bit stiff from my last fight and I don’t think I have got back into the ring after a fight so soon before,’’ said Blackwell.

“I wasn’t training as hard as I would normally because all the training had been done before the last fight and you don’t lose your fitness too much in two weeks.’’

Blackwell’s opponent is still unknown, but he said: “I am not worried about not knowing who my opponent will be, you can adjust when you get in to the ring. The fight is ten rounds so you get time to work it out.”
