TROWBRIDGE club West Wilts Gymnastics is celebrating after five of its squad gymnasts achieved competition success.

Isla Mills became the first ever Wiltshire-based gymnast to compete at and pass the new Elite Compulsory Level Five, which has been brought in at a regional level in 2015.

Mills was one of only 10 gymnasts from the South West to compete at this level and came fifth overall, achieving a Highly Commended grading.

Jessica Richardson and Ashleigh Bygrave were the only Wiltshire-based gymnasts to compete at Elite Compulsory Level Four this year and both achieved the pass mark of 50 points.

They are the first gymnasts the club has entered at this level.

Richardson and Bygrave have subsequently been invited by British Gymnastics to join the South West Performance Pathway training squad for the second year running.

On the same day, Catherine Hall achieved a score of 55 against a pass mark of 50, achieving a Highly Commended at National Grade Two.

The Wiltshire Primary Schools' Competition saw West Wilts Gymnastics Elite gymnast Chloe Johnston achieved the highest score over two pieces to come first overall and earn herself a gold medal.

WWG is currently celebrating the end of its second year and six months in its own permanent facility at its White Horse Business Park base.
