ED McKeever insists he still has more to give after booking his place in the final of the K1 200m at the European Games in Azerbaijan this morning.

2012 gold medallist McKeever clocked 34.984 to win the morning's first heat in
Mingachevir, from Hungary's Miklos Dudas (35.218) with 2014 European champion Marko Dragosavljevic of Serbia in third in 35.218.

The Wiltshire man said: "“I am happy with my performance today but it is only the first round and the main event is tomorrow.

“I plan to get out fast and keep pushing to half way then hold on to the end. I think I have a bit more to give yet up to the finish.”

McKeever's time was third fastest overall in the three morning heats, Sweden's 2013 world and European champion Petter Menning clocking the fastest time while winning the second heat in 34.822.
