WILTSHIRE and Swindon Sport hosted its third and largest Sports Coach Development Conference to date at St Johns School in Marlborough.
A full 140 coaches and teachers involved in delivering over 30 different sports attended the event and took part in 16 different workshops.
The day, supported by sports equipment manufacturers Rhino, was aimed at coaches, teachers, and volunteers involved in teaching or coaching sport or activity at any level.
The development of new skills, sharing of ideas, techniques and practical solutions are key in order to develop and deliver high quality coaching sessions supporting the improvement of athletes and players at all levels.
WASP chief executive Steve Boocock said: “We are committed to supporting all those who are delivering sport in clubs, schools and the community.
“With an increased number of coaches working in our schools, we want to ensure they are providing the best quality experience.”
A number of sport-specific workshops were on offer, including football, athletics, netball and cricket, along with workshops on safeguarding and protecting children, first aid, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning and sports psychology.
