WEST Wilts Ladies signed off for the Christmas break by destroying county rivals North Wilts 8-0 in Swindon to make it 10 West Clubs League Wessex Division One wins from 10 this season.

Sharna Crowe opened the scoring and West Wilts’ dominance continued, a spritely move rewarding Jess McLean with a goal from a set move at a penalty corner.

A shot from the right from Hannah Cornish found the net and a penalty flick was converted by Livie Evans.

Millie Cornish and Lulu Cope connected well for Cope to slot home and service from George Garrity to Katie Gibson again penetrated the D for Evans to add another two to her tally, while McLean also scored again.

WEST Wilts men are also in decent shape at the midway point of the GoCrea8 Men’s League Conference North campaign, a 4-4 draw at home to Team Bath Buccs B stretching their unbeaten record to 11 matches.

A win would have taken Wilts top of the table, but Buccs were the first to break through, going 1-0 up after a well-taken short corner.

Nick Lemon continued in his fine form to score from a tight angle and close range for Wilts.

Then quality play from Mark Brothers drew in the Buccs defence and lured the keeper off his line. A cheeky pass under his shoulder gave James Baker an empty goal to fire Wilts ahead.

Buccs levelled again before half-time but five minutes after the restart, Will Janes set up Lemon for his second from a well-worked short corner.

More pressure and speed of play from Wilts created another goal, Dave King finding Baker who coolly slid home. However, Wilts found defending short corners tough and Bath scored twice from them to earn a point.
