STEVE Surry continued his excellent two weeks in southern Africa by securing a second top 10 finish in successive events on the Sunshine Tour today.

The 32 year old, based out of the Cumberwell Park club near Bradford on Avon, finished the Zambia Sugar Open in style, carding his best round of the week - a 68 - to finish tied sixth at Lusaka Golf Club.

Surry, who finished tied 10th at the Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open in Harare last week, shot up the final round leaderboard in Zambia to earn himself another significant pay day.

The Wiltshire man was outside the top 20 going into today's final day, having posted scores of 71, 72 and 71 in his first three rounds.

But despite bogeying his first hole of the day in the final round, Surry recovered to birdie the third before dropping a second shot on the fifth.

From there, it all clicked into gear for the Cumberwell man, as he reeled off six birdies in his final 13 holes, including three on the trot from the sixth to post 68 and finish on 10 under par.

Sweden's Christofer Blomstrand won the event with a final round 63 to finish on 16 under par.

Surry's clubmate Laurie Canter, who missed the cut at his most recent European Tour event, the Open De Espana at Valderrama last week, bounced back by finishing second at the 54-hole PGA Cornish Festival on Friday.
