STEPHANIE Millward set herself up with a superb chance of a second gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Rio with another record-breaking swim this lunchtime.
Corsham's Millward, who clinched her first Paralympic gold medal with victory in the women's S8 100m backstroke in Rio on Tuesday, set a new Games record as she powered home fastest in the women's S8 50m freestyle heats in the pool today.
The 34 year old, who has also won S8 100m and 400m freestyle bronze at these Games, touched the wall in 30.82 in the first of two heats to qualify fastest for this evening's final.
Millward, who has multiple sclerosis, is competing in a total of seven events in Rio, with the 200m individual medley to come on the final day of swimming competition tomorrow.
The 50m freestyle final is tonight at just after 10pm, with Millward also likely to featured in the later 4x100m medley relay (34 pts) final.
