WEST Wilts Ladies bounced back from their heavy West Clubs League East Division defeat at the hands of Team Bath Buccaneers 3 the previous week to earn a 2-2 draw against Swanage & Wareham on Saturday.
With Lauren Trim and Hetty Thomson linking well through midfield, there were a couple of early chances for Livie Evans, while Lizzie Robson and Kayleigh Pothecary performed well at the back.
But against the run of play, Swanage pounced on a mistake by the defence to go ahead.
Wilts responded quickly and Evans notched her first goal of the season.
The home side managed to break through for a second time in the match from a penalty corner.
But when Robson gained ground on the right to send a fine ball into the D, Lulu Cope took the first shot, with Rosie Vallis deftly putting away the rebound.
A man of the match display from new goalkeeper Jess Wills could not prevent West Wilts Ladies 3 from losing 7-0 at Frome 2 in Wessex Division Three.
WEST Wilts men’s fourth team drew 1-1 in their GoCrea8 League East Central Two clash against Wootton Bassett B.
A good first half saw a breakthrough as Jim Nicholson scored from a fine piece of passing with the other forwards but Bassett hit back from a short corner.
