West Wiltshire’s junior diving stars claimed a clean sweep at this year’s County Novice Competition, which was held at Trowbridge Sports Centre under the gaze of county president Diane Lee.

Inspired by what they had seen from TeamGB’s divers at the Rio Olympics, the 13 members of West Wilts Diving Club brought home seven gold medals, five silvers and a bronze at this year’s competition.

Gold medals we awarded to Lily Bressington, Thomas Barr, Katelyn Irwin, Daniel Rhodes, Leo Feasby, Lucy Talbot and Sam Bressington, who all put in excellent performances.

Silver medallists included Eleanor Feasby, Bella Lowton, Harry Bressington, Eirin Yong and Megan Alderson, while Jasmine Martin bagged herself a bronze.

For many of these divers, this was their first competition and they really responded to the cheers from the crowd.

Coach Emma Hill said: “They were simply on fire. They did so well and I am really proud of them.”

This was the first competition of the season and the divers will be next be in action in Southampton in early November.
