CORSLEY’S Rosie Brown has moved one step closer to her dream of being an elite cross-country racer by signing for Cotswold Cycles.

The 24-year-old has only been racing for two years but won the Expert class of the National XC Series last year.

Brown has ridden for her local cycling club, Westbury Wheelers, since 2015, but by moving teams she will now have access to bicycle manufacturer Trek.

Brown has revealed she was delighted with the move and is now looking forward to the season ahead.

“I’d heard about the team because I know some of the guys who were there last year and I thought I’d see if they wanted any female riders,” she said.

“They were really keen, which I was over the moon with. The team has some really good riders who can support me.

“The team is managed really well so they can help me with things like bike service as well as support at races.

“It’s nothing against my old club, but it will be nice to go to races as part of a team and hopefully I can help the other riders too.

“It’s a good opportunity to represent the team in the female field at all of the regional and national events.”

Brown also claimed victory in the Southern XC series as well as finishing 14th in the National Cross Country MTB Championships, and 16th in the Elite Hadleigh Park International Cross Country race.
