JAZZ Carlin added to her collection of silver with a medal-winning performance on the first day of the Pro Swim Series meet in Indianapolis yesterday.

Swindon's Carlin, who now lives in Bradford on Avon, was the runner-up in the women's 400m freestyle - one of five medals for British swimmers on the opening day of the three-day event.

The 26 year old, who won silver in the 400m and 800m freestyle events at last summer's Olympic Games in Rio, clocked 4:10.81 to finish behind home competitor Hali Flickinger.

Carlin, who has recently stepped up her training comeback after last year's heroics, is also scheduled to race the 800m on Saturday.

Britain's Chloe Tutton topped a strong field in the 200m breaststroke, while James Guy, another double Olympic medallist, also took silver in the men’s event. Guy was joined on the podium by team mate Max Litchfield with the bronze.

In the 100m freestyle, double Olympic medallist, Duncan Scott took silver.

The British squad of 41 features a combination of podium and podium potential athletes as they continue to prepare for the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield in April.
