TROWBRIDGE’S Hot Chilli Triathlon Club Juniors have enjoyed a fine start to the season with back to back weekends of podium success.

The club’s junior section, which was only formed last autumn, took a team to the Spring Bath Run /Bike/Run Duathlon.

In the Male Youth category Harry Webb paced his final push on the second run to ease away in the last 800m to win, while in the Female Junior category, Caitlin Wosika did likewise.

The progress of both has led them to selection to the South West Triathlon Talent Squad and the chance to qualify to compete in the Elite Junior Super Series this summer.

Hot Chilli also competed at Burnham on Sea’s Swim/Run Aquathlon, the majority achieving personal best times over the distances and podium places in three of the four age group categories.

Will Smith dominated the Tri Start age group (eight years) with the fastest swim split and second fastest run to take first place. Thomas Felstead built on a personal best swim to come second in the Tri Star 1 (9-10yrs) boys race and Cocco Cranston missed out on third place in the same age group by just 20 seconds.

In the Tri Star 2 (11-12yrs) Malin Cranston just missed third place and in Tri Star 3 (12-13yrs), Orli Cranston was second, while Ethan Bolter enjoyed a breakthrough race to also finish on the podium.
