TEN girls from Melksham’s Wiltshire School of Gymnastics competed in the South West Springboard Championships - their second team competition of the year.
In four different age groups, the girls took three all-around titles and 14 apparatus medals.
In the 9 to 10-year-olds category, the star of the show was 10-year-old Martha Green, from Devizes, who ensured top spot in the all-around competition, fighting off 70 rivals from across the region.
Team-mate Lydia Webb, from Melksham, placed second, while Bradford on Avon’s Jessica Potter, one of the youngest in the competition, shone on floor to pick up a bronze medal, while team-mates Alysia Garrett, of Chippenham, and Isabel Brazeley, of Bradford on Avon, put in strong performances.
In the 11 to 12-year-old section, Trowbridge’s Violet Browne won the all-around title from a 60-strong field, while Westbury’s Abby Hemmens picked up a bronze on bars and silver on floor, and Devizes’ Polly Boother was sixth overall.
Bromham’s Brooke Johnson did not disappoint in the 13 to 14-year-old section, by clinching the all-around prize, while 15-year-old Emily Young, from Amesbury, battled well to place fifth in the ladies’ all-around and took silver on both bars and floor.
The Wiltshire School were crowned the South West Springboard champions.
