St Augustine's pupils qualify for English Schools Championships

Emily and Alice Dixon, sisters at St Augustine's Catholic College, had a fantastic weekend of competition for the South West.

Both have qualified to represent the South West at the Inter Regional national championships in August.

At a sunny Parc Bryn Bach in Blaenau Gwent, Wales, they swam in the lake, cycled a hilly course and ran their way into the South West Team. Alice achieved 1st qualifying position for the Tristar 2 age group and Emily, second position in the Tristar 3 age group.

Not content with that, Emily then went on to represent Wiltshire on Sunday at the South West Junior Girls Pentathlon coming fourth overall and qualifying for the English Schools championships in Bedford International Stadium in September.

Emily achieved 2 Personal Bests, 1.48m in the High Jump, and 12.8 seconds in the Hurdles.
