MOTOR RACING: The Castle Combe Circuit will celebrate its 500th Formula Ford race at its next meeting on Saturday August 5.

The Classic raceday event, featuring the popular championships of the Historic Sports Car Club, will feature a parade of the earliest Formula Fords, and the Castle Combe Racing Club is hoping more owners of classic Formula Fords will be tempted to bring them along.

A round of the Historic Formula Ford 1600 championship will run alongside the circuit's modern day equivalent, the Melton Concrete Products Formula Ford 1600 championship and it is hoped a special prize fund can be put up to reward all the starters and commemorate the event.
