THIS weekend's Wiltshire Schools Cross Country event at Grittleton House, near Chippenham, has been postponed.
Organisers of the event, which sees hundreds of secondary school pupils from across the county take part in the grounds of the school, reluctantly called off the event following a heavy forecast of snow from tonight.
The championships will now take place next Saturday (January 26).
Event organiser Tim Whiting, of the Wiltshire Schools Athletics Association, said: "Due to the forecast of 5-15cm (of snow) arriving midnight Thursday and lasting until Saturday, reluctantly we have no option but to postpone the championships until Saturday, January 26 at Grittleton House.
