MATT Banahan is convinced that Bath teammate Kyle Eastmond is destined for a big impact in the 15-a-side code.

Eastmond earned a call-up to the England Saxons squad earlier this month, under 20 games into his rugby union career after moving from rugby league giants St Helens.

The 23-year-old has already been shunted infield as Bath look to make the most of his skills, with Eastmond even mentioned as a potential future fly-half.

Having himself trodden the path infield from wing to centre, Banahan can appreciate the work being put in by his teammate.

“He (Eastmond) is one of the best ball players I’ve ever seen,’’ said Banahan, who signed an extended contact with Bath before Christmas.

“Ball in hand he sees a lot. He’s also very young and naturally gifted.

“He’s still understanding the game but once he gets up to the speed he wants to, he really is going to be a quality player.

“He’s got some serious skill and he could probably pick the position he wants to play in.

“It’s a pleasure to play with him.’’

Bath are offering the chance to buy one adult ticket and get another free to tomorrow’s game with Bucharest Wolves (2.15pm).

Any tickets bought as part of the offer will also get you priority booking, after season ticket holders and members, to a home Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final in April.

Call the ticket office on 0844 448 1865 to book.
