DEPLETED Warminster suffered a league hammering at the hands of the Dorset & Wilts One South leaders on Saturday.

With Ivel having only scored less than 50 points twice on their own patch, the visitors were prepared for a tough afternoon.

And that was how it panned out as Warminster travelled with the bare XV and a stack of unavailabilities.

Just five minutes after kick-off, the lack of manpower came back to haunt them as winger Rich Grover could not carry on after receiving a boot to the hand.

The amber and blues did start the game well and achieved parity for the first 10 minutes.

But once Ivel scored the first try, the floodgates opened and the home side raced into a 37-0 lead at half time.

The second half followed much the same pattern, Warminster’s cause was not helped at times with some weak tackling.

The one plus point for the visitors on the day was the scrum where, despite frequently packing down with just seven men, they held their own and gained occasional dominance.
