Trowbridge came away from their first league visit to Weymouth for many years with a resounding win scoring eight tries in the process.

Lee McClurg was added to the bench for his first outing of the season. Mark Durrant was given his first start for a number of weeks.

From the off Trowbridge made their intentions clear running the ball at every opportunity.

The first score came after seven minutes when full-back Jackson Szabo picked up a loose ball in midfield and ran through to score near the posts, Lloyd Davis adding the conversion.

While the Weymouth forwards gave a good account of themselves Trowbridge always looked the more dangerous side and secured a second try when prop Lee Fairclough was driven over the line from a surge from a lineout.

The visitors enjoyed the majority of territory for the remainder of the half, although Weymouth scored their only points when fly-half Nick Sheppard kicked a penalty.

Davis responded with a penalty of his own before half time and the game was made safe within 10 minutes of the restart when first Ashley Chalk and then Fairclough scored tries in quick succession, both converted by Davis.

The visitors were in rampant form with their threequarters looking dange- rous at every move.

With Davis running the game tactically and full-back Szabo coming into the line Trowbridge scored a further four tries at regular intervals, Szabo, Chalk – for his hat-trick – and Kevin James touching down.

Davis converted three times, but the visitors suffered injury blows to Dave Martin and Aaron Bray.
