BRADFORD head coach Dave George reckons the Dorset & Wilts One North title race could be heading for a memorable finale on April 12.

George’s men stayed at the head of affairs with a potentially crucial victory at rivals Supermarine, despite being reduced to 13 men in the closing stages.

Bradford lead Minety on points difference, a point clear of Trowbridge 2nd with two matches remaining.

Marine meanwhile are five points off top spot, but could draw level with their game in hand and have a superior points difference.

Reigning champions Chippenham 2nd, Bradford’s final-day opponents, will also be right back in it with victory in their game in hand.

George, who missed Saturday’s win, said: “It could be very tight on that final weekend.

“We’ve got Swindon (2nd) and Chippenham (2nd) to play (in their final two matches) so anything could happen.’’ Bradford stormed into a 17-0 lead at Marine as fly-half Dan Bright booted a penalty, then converted a pushover try by number eight Ed Dawson.

But the home side had reduced arrears to 17-10 by the interval and, after the break, closed up to within a point of the visitors.

As the game entered the final stages, both Bright and scrum-half Matt Edwards were sin-binned.

But rather than just clinging on, Bradford closed out the match as centre Nick Abbott touched down to wrap up the points.

George added: “We prepared really well in midweek and the boys really fronted up on the day. I was very proud of them.’’
