BATH head coach Mike Ford has revealed that a decision on Wales and British Lions star Gavin Henson's future will be "made soon''.

Henson, man of the match in Sunday's 39-7 Amlin Challenge Cup quarter final win over Brive, signed on a one-year deal last summer and is believed to be keen to stay at the Rec.

Ford said today: "“Gav wants to stay and he’s not pressurising us to make a decision on him.

“The way he’s been going, he’ll certainly have a role to play before the end of the season.”

“The decision will be made soon. He’s had a few niggles and injuries with his calf, which are not great to heal. In that period we were winning quite a few on the run and people got credit in the bank.

“Now he’s come back and forced himself onto the bench, and forced himself into a start at the weekend. He started did really well and got the sponsors’ man of the match.''

Henson, who lives in Bradford on Avon, was linked with a move to Newport-based Dragons next season, but the Welsh region's coach Lyn Jones confirmed today that the 33-times player would not be joining the Newport side.

"I am sure by Wednesday night you'll hear where he's going next year. Sadly not here," Jones told BBC Wales Sport.

"Gavin's a quality player. Always has been and always will be. I think it's only right that there are teams interested in him.

"He has got a huge amount to offer the game of rugby."

Henson left the Swansea-based Ospreys in 2009, and arrived at Bath following stints with Saracens, Toulon, Cardiff Blues and London Welsh.

Ford meanwhile, expects to have centre Jonathan Joseph and hooker Rob Webber back in training after long-term injuries before the end of this week and hopes that South African flanker Francois Louw will be back after his ankle ligament injury for the final regular-season Aviva Premiership clash at Harlequins on May 10.

Bath fans travelling to Saturday's sell-out Aviva Premiership clash at Gloucester are being warned about potential travel disruption.

First Great Western's planned engineering works mean that the railway will be closed between Gloucester and Swindon/Bristol Parkway, wuth buses replacing trains on both routes. Cross Country will be running and hourly service between Gloucester and Bristol via Newport.

In addition, Kingsholm Road will be closed between noon and 6pm between Alvin Street and Sebert Street.

Those with allocated parking at the ground can access the main car park between 10am and noon prior to the closure and, once in force, access to the main car park will be permitted via Skinner Street up until 1.30pm, after which a lockdown will be in place until 30 minutes after the final whistle.

Bath's Amlin Challenge Cup semi final at London Wasps will take place on Sunday, April 27 (1pm).
