BRADFORD on Avon were crowned champions of Dorset & Wilts North after a dramatic final day of the season yesterday.
Dave George's side claimed a place in Southern Counties South for next season as they won 25-0 at Chippenham 2nd, securing an all-important bonus point for the full five-point haul available.
Going into the last round of matches, four teams were still in the hunt with two of them, Trowbridge 2nd and Supermarine meeting at Doric Park.
Trowbridge, a point behind joint leaders Marine, Bradford on Minety at the start of play, won a narrow contest 8-7, ending Marine's hopes but also without the bonus point that could have kept them in the hunt.
Minety, who visited Melksham, did secure the full five points available by winning 32-5, but Bradford's hugely superior points difference sent the title back to Ashley Lane.
