BOX'S Katy Curd is the new women's 4x world champion after claiming victory in Leogang, Austria, on Saturday.
Curd, 25, clinched victory in a thrilliing final, seeing off the Netherlands' Anneke Beerten, Germany's Steffi Marth and Helene Valerie Fruhwirth, of Austria.
The Wiltshire woman, the 2013 4X ProTour champion, moved clear with Beerten of the other two in the final, but the Dutch rider looked destined to win the crown until Curd fought back to take the lead before the final corner and held on until the finish.
It follows her victory in the 4x ProTour event at Fort Williams in Scotland last weekend.
