VISITORS Devon made a solid start to the crucial Unicorns Championship Western Division clash against Wiltshire at Devizes today.

After winning the toss and electing to bat Devon, the closest challengers in the table to Mike Coles' home side, reached 311 before being dismissed in the 88th over.

Max Curtis scored 106 - his maiden Minor Counties century - and wicketkeeper Matt Thompson 76 to form the backbone of their side's innings.

For Wiltshire, Potterne's Jake Roberts took 5-74, while Tahir Afridi claimed 4-91.

In reply, Wiltshire had reached 61-1 at stumps, Henry Langford the man out for 12.

Fellow opener Jayden Levitt was unbeaten on 36, Ed Young alongside him with nine.
