ADAM Collington refused to be too downbeat despite seeing his United side throw away a two-goal advantage on Tuesday night.

Westbury were 3-1 up at one stage in the second half before Chard hit back for a share of the points, but Collington accentuated the positives afterwards.

“”The first 25 minutes of the second half was probably the best we’ve played this season.’’ he said.

“We probably just lacked a little bit of experience to see the game out at 3-1. We let them back into it with a bit of a sloppy goal but, if I’m honest, looking at them, I probably would have taken a point at the start of the game.

“We just need to tighten up at the back and find a bit of consistency because we’re scoring lots of goals at the moment. If we can sort that out then we should be fine.’’

The sides had shared 14 goals in two matches last season and United – using their fourth goalkeeper of the campaign already in Adam Sheppard, took the lead on 17 minutes as Craig Sheppard’s corner was met by Nathan Hallett-Young’s bullet header.

Chard levelled eight minutes later through Sam Clark but a breathless second half saw Westbury scored twice in seven minutes to take control.

Mark Young fired home from 20 yards after Matt Mead’s pass before being upended in the penalty area, allowing Craig Sheppard to tuck home the spot kick.

Clark broke through the home defence to halve the deficit beforeturning provider to set up Oscar Latas for the equaliser.
