CASTLE Combe were at their very best at Hilperton United, where an 8-3 victory for Tom Bull’s side saw them claim a share of pole position with Bradford United at the top of the Division One table.

A Scott Nash double helped Combe take a 2-1 interval lead, Craig Sheppard finding the net for Hilperton.

Combe moved through the gears in the second half, George Bettles leading the carnage with four and a brace from Jason Cole making up the tally. Kieran Fereday and Dean Coles replied.

North Bradley were in the goals at home to bottom of the table Trowbridge Town Reserves, coasting to a comfortable 8-0 success.

Dan Mercer, Adil Bakali and Steve Jackson (penalty) put Bradley three up at the break, Jackson adding a further three and Mercer’s second and Dan Dominy completing the rout.

A 3-0 victory for Bradford United at Steeple Ashton took them level on points with Combe, but top courtesy of a better goal difference.

Paul Ranger crossed for Phil Little to tap in from close range before Dan Sandford, Bliha and Kegan Smart set up James Kellam. Smart laid the ball to Bliha who calmly rolled home the third.

Warminster Town Reserves picked up three valuable points thanks to a 3-1 home success over fellow relegation battlers Semington Magpies who had Chris Dore sent off.

Sam Malone made it one-all midway through the first half after Matt Dyer had given Warminster the lead.
