ADAM Collington is hoping that his Westbury United side can put a spring back in their step in the coming weeks.

Westbury slipped to a 4-0 defeat at high-flying Ashton & Backwell United on Wednesday night and were also knocked out of the Wiltshire Senior Cup last weekend in a 2-1 loss to Sydenhams League Downton, with Grant Gunning grabbing United’s consolation goal.

But with a clutch of fixtures against the sides in and around his team in the table coming up in the next few weeks, boss Collington is hoping that Westbury can regain their lost confidence.

“When you’re playing against the Almondburys, the Wincantons and the Barnstaples, you’re happy if you can get a point. No disrespect to my players but that’s just the way it is,” said the Meadow Lane chief.

“But we’ve got Devizes, Radstock, Roman Glass and Chippenham coming up - the next three weeks are massive.”
