A 4-2 VICTORY for Hilperton United Reserves at FC Trowbridge saw them complete a league double over their opponents who they beat 3-2 a month ago.

Hilperton led through a Dave Burrows penalty but Carlos Megson levelled things up for Trowbridge with his first goal for the club.

A second-half double for Jason Lucas and Lewis Smith’s single made up Hilperton’s quartet with Natti Mills scoring the losers second from the penalty spot.

Bottom of the table Zeals FC and third placed Aces FC met in the first of back-to-back fixtures and it was the latter who will go into next weeks reverse clash full of confidence after their 7-1 success at the Sullis Club.

A first-half hat-trick from Greg Richardson and Mike Little’s four timer which included two excellent solo efforts and a penalty won it for Aces. Ben Talbot was the lone marksman for Zeals.

A week after their Somerset Junior Cup clash with Yeovil & District League high flyers Somerton FC was abandoned with just six minutes remaining owing to an injury to Mark Gerrish, Freshford United saw the rescheduled match postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Brown’s Park.

The teams meet each other this coming weekend to find a conclusion to the third round match which has a trip to Bath & North Somerset District League side AFC Brislington as the prize for the winners.
