MALMESBURY Victoria manager Wayne Kibble is backing strikers Sam Parker and Ed Wilkins to be the scourge of the Wiltshire League if they continue to dovetail as effectively as they did last weekend.

Parker hit a first half hat-trick, with all three goals set up by Wilkins, whilst his strike partner also got himself on the scoresheet as the Vics humbled Vale of Pewsey 4-0 at the Flying Monk Ground last weekend.

The Malmesbury chief said: “Sammy Parker and Ed Wilkins were phenomenal and I think if they carry on the way they have been, they’ll cause all sorts of problems for defences in this league.

“Sammy is the one benefitting at the moment because Ed is doing all of his donkey-work. But Ed’s a proven goalscorer and a greedy little so-and-so, so he won’t end up too far behind him in terms of goals.

“Sam scored a hat-trick but I gave man-of-the-match to our 17-year-old left-back, Ewen Kenny. He usually plays for our development team.

“He delivered the ball really well and did it in their half, on a difficult surface, which is exactly what I asked him to do.

“It was a very good performance there’s a good atmosphere at the club at the moment.”

Elsewhere, Devizes Town Reserves built on their win over Wootton Bassett Town Development last week with a 3-0 triumph at home to Westbury United Reserves.

Trowbridge Wanderers came out on the right end of a 3-2 scoreline as they took all three points from their clash with Sarum Youth.
